Every Smarter Home Essential Package comes with one Water Leak Sensor. We recommend you place it around your water heater as it often represents the largest potential risk of water damage in your home. If you have purchased additional Smarter Home Water Leak Sensors from Enercare, we recommend you place them near other potential sources of water that could leak, such as sinks, dishwasher, washing machine, toilets, etc.
How to check the status of your Smarter Home Water Leak sensor(s) (desktop or mobile).
- Log into the Enercare Smarter Home Portal app.
- From the home screen find the card called “Sensors” or it might say “Water Sensors“.
- It will show the status of all Water Leak Sensors linked to your account.
How to set up water leak notifications
- Log into the Enercare Smarter Home Portal app.
- From the home screen find “Notifications” in the menu.
- On the mobile app click “Manage Notifications” and on the desktop click “Notifications“.
- To create a new notification click on “New” (mobile) or “New Notification” (desktop) at the top right.
- Turn on the notification by toggling the switch at the top of the page.
- Select the sensors you wish to receive notifications on.
- Fill out the remaining options and select recipients for these notifications.
- Press “Save” to save the rule.
