Eligibility Requirements

The Peak Perks program, offered by the Independent Electricity System Operator through its Save on Energy suite of programs, is designed to financially reward participants and help them save energy at home by participating in brief, time-limited thermostat adjustments during periods of peak electricity demand that can occur on the hottest summer days. By participating in Peak Perks, consumers can take advantage of a simple and easy way to manage electricity consumption at home and support a reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity grid in Ontario.

Peak Perks Program Benefits Include:

  • $75 virtual prepaid credit card for initial enrollment
  • $20 virtual prepaid credit card for every year participant is enrolled in the program, starting in 2024 if you enroll in Peak Perks by September 30, 2023
  • Helping the community and the province by reducing impact on Ontario’s electricity grid during hot days

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for Enercare’s Matching Offer Program you must:

  • Be enrolled in the Peak Perks program with proof of enrollment. Enroll here for the Peak Perks program.
  • • Be a residential customer who has directly purchased HVAC from Enercare and installed it on or after July 1st, 2023 OR have purchased and installed an ecobee thermostat through Enercare on or after May 1st, 2023.
  • Have an eligible Wi-Fi-enabled smart thermostat installed in your home. Some examples are ecobee, Honeywell Home, Google Nest and Emerson – see full list of eligible models here.
  • Enrolment form must be submitted with the information of the Enercare Account holder who purchased the equipment.

  • Welcome to the Save On Energy Peak Perks Program! Your application to the Save On Energy Peak Perks program has been accepted.

  • The virtual prepaid credit card will be sent to the email you provided on the webform within 4-6 weeks of approval.

  • You must meet all of the eligibility requirements to be approved for Enercare’s Matching Offer Program. One of the requirements is a copy of the confirmation email from Peak Perks showing that you have signed up for their program. If you have not received your email confirmation, you’ll need to contact Peak Perks directly. As well, you will need to have had a furnace, air conditioner, boiler and/or Heat Pump installed by Enercare on or after July 1st, 2023.
