TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwire – April 5, 2011) – EnerCare Inc. ("EnerCare") (TSX:ECI) today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiaries, sub-metering providers Stratacon Inc. ("Stratacon") and EnerCare Connections Inc. ("EnerCare Connections"), reported record sales of over 9,000 individual suites for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
EnerCare has seen increased activity in the sub-metering market since new legislation was introduced. "As we had hoped, the new legislation has provided stakeholders the certainty they need to take advantage of the substantial energy conservation benefits available through sub-metering," said John Macdonald, President and CEO of EnerCare. "We saw increased customer interest in the fourth quarter of 2010 and are pleased to see nearly a sixfold increase in orders over the same period in 2010. EnerCare has also proceeded with previously announced plans to increase our sales force by approximately 40%."
As of March 31, 2011, EnerCare has in excess of 100,000 contracted suites in its sub-metering portfolio.
