TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwire – March 16, 2012) – EnerCare Inc. ("EnerCare") (TSX:ECI) today named Grace Palombo to its board of directors effective immediately. Ms. Palombo's appointment expands the EnerCare board from six to seven members.

Ms. Palombo was nominated to the EnerCare board by Direct Energy Marketing Limited ("DE") pursuant to DE's rights under a nomination agreement entered into in connection with EnerCare's conversion from an income fund to its current corporate structure.
Following DE's nomination of Ms. Palombo, the board's governance committee carefully considered her qualifications and suitability, as well as those of other candidates, and recommended that she be appointed a director. Ms. Palombo's term expires at the close of the next annual meeting of shareholders.

Ms. Palombo has a proven record in maximizing organizational performance and human capital as a senior human resources, corporate services and legal executive. A lawyer by training, she is currently vice-president, human resources at TD Bank Group. From 2004 to 2010, she was senior vice-president, human resources–corporate, at CanWest Global Communications. She is also a director of Student Transportation Inc., listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and Nasdaq, one of North America's largest providers of school-bus services.
